The river and autonomous shuttle robot boat project of the city of Caen was born from the need to meet the future mobility needs of the city of Caen in Normandy. Named NEAC and resulting from the first work packages of the TEVAC project, the project has several objectives: to develop a proof of concept of autonomous waterway and maritime shuttle robot boat integrated to the transport offer of the city, to develop a cluster of excellence around boats and coordinate the efforts of the local industrial and business ecosystem. The development of NEAC represents major opportunities for demonstrating French know-how to meet national and international needs for innovative links for hubs near waterways corridors and maritime areas.
